Just read an article online about a thousand wild horses in Modoc California who are scheduled to be rounded up and removed, some slaughtered starting in a few days on October 9th. was having an ok evening and this depressed the hell out of me.  would do something but I don't know what.  Here is a link with more info

I dont think it violates policy. But getting a charge from an online article causing you depression is bad.

The environment cannot support the population. If they don't control the population, many more will die of starvation and dehydration. It is called 'culling'.

It looks like of the 1000 they plan to trap, 700 or so may be adopted but 300 or so of them, the ones over 10 years old may be slaughtered. I think this is grossly inhumane and unfair and unnecessary. But it wasn't right for me to post about it here. I am contacting some horse rescue places in California and trying to get involved in other ways. I guess it's not a big deal that I posted but please excuse my deviation for the intended topic of this group. I have a super soft spot for animals. And I know not everyone is the same that way.
