Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Being a single parent and having to kind of re-boot your life is very time consuming, it's a lot for one person to do and it takes a lot of energy. Try to take things in small bits, don't rush to fix every issue or solve every problem at once, that will just wear you down and make things seem harder than they need to be. Days will be busy, even so try to take breaks to take your child to the park for 30 minutes and just enjoy being with each other. Or go on a hike together, or a bike ride, or a walk through the Mall...I think you get what I'm saying. Children have an uncanny ability to heal and help others heal, spend time with your child each day, all the rest of it will fall into place.
Praying is good, perhaps if your church has a prayer warrior hotline, you might call and ask them to add you to the list....extra prayers never hurt. You will get through this, it may look dark and gloomy now, but on the other side of dark and gloom, is light and breezy.....you'll get there.
Take care,
Kat
