Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Holidays are somewhat difficult, as I don't celebrate them with my family. I used to spend like every year for the past five years with friends, but that has gotten really strained. I wasn't interested in dating one of the men there, and I think that reallly upset some people, as it might have been expected I was going to date him or something...I don't know. Last year a low-key argument broke out at the Easter event, so I kinda wanted to stay out of it.
At any rate, I needed to find something else to do, so this new church that I go to was having a brunch. I got up early, brought my dish, and drove out there. I sat with everyone. This one really odd lady who hangs around a lot came very late and was hanging around the table, just kind of lurking there. She was almost half an hour late. I had a feeling that she was going to try to take my seat if I had to get up. Sure enough, when I went to get up and get dessert, I came back, and she retrived the seat. I had my purse there, utensils and everything. I was so furious. I just grabbed my purse and left. Good thing I knew someone inside, so I sat with them. They also thought it was really odd that someone would do that. I've never seen anyone do that before, and I wouldn't have the audacity to do so, it's so rude. When I came out from inside, the whole table was taking a picture together. I was really angry. I have to say I pity people like that because obviously they have no social skills or anything going for them. Only a loser would do that.
I was tempted to tell her off, but then that would make me look bad. I don't know if I should ever say anything about it, but I don't want anything to do with this person now-ever. I'll be polite only if I have to. I mean I was already feeling really rejected and left out about the holiday in general, and usually at this congregation is where I feel welcome. Overall everyone is nice and there is a good vibe. I almost left the whole event entirely, but I didn't want one thing to screw up the whole day. I think it was salvaged by the end. She is weird. She came in last year and was coughing and sneezing all over the place and I ended up getting really sick for like four days. People like that are pathetic and sounds bad but I view as even beneath me. It's not nice or Christian, but yeah I'm pretty upset. She *knew* that was my chair as she kept eyeing me and I had a feeling it might happen-I just didn't think she'd actually do it! My guess is that she is rejected everywhere, otherwise why would you act like that? A normal person would find a free table, and she had her daughter with her.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon
