Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I have been sad and havent talked to anyone in a long time. I guess I am scared to make new friends because of what they might think of me and being used. I am reaching out today as I have been dealing with life by myself for quite a long while now and I am screaming extremely loud and crying inside...longing for a friendship.

Very sad to be so isolated Veron and welcome to DS I’ll bet you can find friends here that will care about you and your needs. And btw your needs aren’t so far removed from any other person on this planet. I’d say there are so many people all here together that we are meant to have companionship. You hear of hermits living alone in the wilds and the screaming and crying you speak of has to be a universal behavior of ours also. So take heart Veron and take a chance on this opportunity for a friend. Blessings

I'm so sorry you're having a hard time. Life can be extremely difficult. It's hard to open up to people, especially after you've been hurt (I don't know if this is your case). You've come to a safe place for support. Blessings.

I know how you feel; as I have been experiencing the same thing for years. I would just like to know that I'm not alone. Opening up to anybody is very difficult and terrifying. I have never been one to judge anybody and I could never understand why everyone else is so judgemental all the time.

It is hard to feel lonely. Life is meant to be shared with others. Have you considered joining any new groups? Libraries have free programs where you can learn something with others who might have similar interests. Volunteering is also a good way to share your talents with others. Helping others can help with your mood also. I hope you can find some new hobbies.

I feel the same exact way and as soon as I think Ive met someone who wants to stay. They leave. It really does suck. I miss being able to just say hi and feel normal. Now I say Hello to someone and I almost have a panic attack and start overthinking everything and feel like Ive done something wrong by greeting them. Its lonely but I found myself in this habit where I push everyone away so I dont get hurt. Its quite selfish if Im honest but I think its for the best.
