Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
The best thing you can do for yourself it's accept how you are. Be your own champion. I've had doctors write me off over and over because they don't know what's wrong. I have fatigue, it's vague. I've even got the "just try harder" talk from a doctor. Believe me, it's demoralizing. But you know what? I DO have a fatigue problem and it's that doctor's falling for throwing her hands up. I will never stop searching for cures, but never beat yourself up for not being an easy fix. I really believe things happen to us for a reason, even if we might not figure it out in this lifetime. So never invalidate yourself! *hugs*
Your pain is your pain. No reason to try to compare your suffering with someone else.
Self esteem gradually appears when you begin to realize that you're
who you want to be or that you are becoming who you want to be, that you don't really need validation for anyone else, and that you
don't have to accept anyone's opinion of you or anything else - you
can and will decide things for yourself.
Sending good thoughts.
