I feel unloved. I hate myself. I'm only 14 years old and I already feel like I'm at the end of my life. I don't know how to tell my parents because I don't think they will take it seriously . And "just tell them" doesn't help. What do I do?

Hello I am so sorry you feel this way. Hating yourself is a sign of depression. Ending you life is a very serious feeling! You need to talk to your parents and tell them how you feel. I think that is a place to start. I would hope they would take you seriously. Why wouldn’t they if they love you? Do you have caring grandparents, aunt, uncle? You need to go to a therapist to express your feelings, and then you can see a psychiatrist to get you on meds so you can deal with your emotions. What about a school counselor, if you speak to them, they will contact you parents for you. They are there to help you! Your parents will not be able to ignore your feelings. You counselor will contact your parents for you. Hope this helps. Will keep you in my prayers. Carolanne

Sometimes having someone to talk will help a lot. For me I found it hard to speak with people close to me because I did not want to be judged and I also felt embarrassed. So rather than speak with my parents, brothers, aunts, uncles, I called the veterans crisis line. I spoke with someone trained to listen and after speaking with them I felt better. The person I spoke with helped me stop worrying by giving really good advice. So if you feel like you can not get the support and answers you need from your parents, friend, etc., call the National suicide prevention hotline today at 1-800-273-8255. Find someone to talk to ASAP. If the National Suicide Prevention hotline does not help you feel better text the "Crisis Text Line" but don't give up until you feel better.

I think there are hotlines for teens. Look at the internet.

Suicide has been called "a permanent solution to a temporary problem". Even if you can't change your situation you can change your outlook on the situation. DON'T GIVE UP! Please talk to a trusted friend, family member or mental health care professional. If your parents work, discreetly find out if their companies offer Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Anyone living in the same household get 8 free counseling session per calendar year. Also don't leave out the power of prayer: "Throw all your anxiety on God, because he cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7

You sound a lot like me at 14, but back then I didn't have the internet to reach out to anonymously. I'm glad you do. You're not alone. With me, one of my few trusted friends wound up going to our school counselor behind me back, despite the fact that she knew I'd hate her for it, because she loved me enough to risk me hating her for life, just as long as I would STAY ALIVE. It was the best thing that could have happened. I was terrified, but I was given the real help I needed. It most likely did save my life. If there's anyone'- ANYONE- you can tell that knows you personally, and can inform the appropriate people for you- please, please do. They'll take care of the rest if you just let them and follow their lead. Much love to you.

I got an email from Kohl's that I had a 40% off coupon for today and tomorrow only. It took me about an hour but I placed an order and got some great deals. I have been wanting a new dress. I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness? Let me share a little more: in my experience, when those who have tried to project a hidden agenda that is obviously not aligned with integrity and well-being, it's best to be firm and speak clearly from self-awareness and...
