Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I know many here will understand the despair in the piece below and your hearts will vibrate with it. I hope though that you also read the hope, the gratitude, the acceptance and the faith.

Hello Darkness my old friend
You've been a part of me since time began
You've been with me each waking hour, you stay away I feel your power and I can hear you every hour

And when the evening turns to grey
When twilight comes to take the sun away

That is deep and I need to ponder that more. I basically never have cheery dreams and must fight through the darkness that comes in my night times each morning. The fight has forged an inner strength and I am seeing many great things of late so I shall persevere. Thanks for posting this.
