You miss the people that used to be with you and gone specially, if they passed away during the holidays. The pressure to appear happy, attend social gatherings, and maintain a festive demeanor can intensify feelings of loneliness and emotional exhaustion. Family dynamics, financial stress, and memories of past experiences can trigger deeper emotional pain.
It's important to remember that your feelings are valid. Depression doesn't take a holiday just because everyone else seems merry. Be gentle with yourself. Seek support from trusted friends and set realistic expectations, and prioritize your mental health. Small acts of self-care can make a significant difference. Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. Have you seen a psychiatrist if you don't mind my asking?
Medication can help with depression and therapy can help with ptsd if that's what you're suffering from
What you shared about the holidays is so true and thank you
If you have a faith there's a book called The Shack that's written by a missionary's son that's probably the best book I've ever read and it brought me a lot of comfort

SunCloudJD .. I try to avoid any sort of medical prescriptions drugs had some rough not toooo favorable side effects in the past .. hives and negative mood swings/ that also just made me become more depressed…
I instead Meditate including have attended a Vipassana 10 Day Meditation retreat .. , also exercise daily even be it a brisk power walk or swimming..
I miss the holidays from long ago. Simple Christmas eves exchanging modest gifts and having a traditional Oyster stew.
It's really the little things.
