Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I've been really depressed for a while now. I have some good days, but most days it feels like I'm barely getting by. I have PTSD and BPD as well as depression, which I am trying to manage as well. I'm in therapy and that is going really well. I feel like I am making some headway, but I can't shake this depression.
I haven't been able to hold down a job, which is giving me a lot of anxiety. I feel like a failure. My friend told me that I should apply for disability, but I haven't because I honestly want to work. I want to be able to hold down a job and take care of myself financially. It makes me angry that I just shut down and can't function properly. I don't know what to do. I feel like a burden to my family, who I am living with now ever since my divorce about a year ago. They're being so supportive of me, but I can't help feeling guilty. Why is it so hard for me to hold down a job? Why do I just shut down?
Anyway, that's what's going on with me at the moment. Thank you for listening.
Once you have acquired a new job, then you would not feel so guilty, and the financial and familial pressure on you would be lifted.
