Cymbalta can make you feel really tired for the first few weeks and it can cause sleep disturbance which only adds to the problem but I have found that this does pass but can take up to 8 weeks for me. What dosage are you on? Can you not speak to whoever prescribed them for you and get a medical opinion, these things work differently for everyone.

Most likely it is from medication. we almoust did not celebrate Christmas for 7 years because we did not have that much of family or friends to celebrate it. We have simulare problem. I lost two jobs due to high anxiety and depression after that my husband finaly had to find job because he was jobless before that. We got a lot of debts and medical bills.We do not have any insurance too so I basically went to receive treatment to Ukraine (my father is psuychiatrist in Ukraine). In spite of all your problems you still have one good thing if you have normal relations with your wife. Reason for my depression was problem in my marriage.
I got theroid problem too. Some people say that theroid hormone inbalance can cause severe depression. One neighbor was not able to leave house, was scared of people while having depression and it was discovered that theroid problem caused it. As soon as he received help for that his depession got better.
Practically any antidepressant will make you stay in bed when you start to take it. I took not less than 10 kinds of antidepresants because non of them was effective till I found Elavil and all of them made put me in bed when I just start to take it. It was good for me because I had high anxiety and it is highly calming antidepresant. so it takes some time to find what will work for you.

It depends what you try to achieve with antidepressants. If you want make yourself more active and happy, you take serotonin reuptake inhibitors: Prozac, Cymbalta, Lexapro, Escitalopram, Paxil, Citalopram, Celexa.
If you want to be more calm you take adrenalin reuptake inhibitors: Elavil, Trittico, Remeron, Effexor.
There is also Agomelatin which has unknown way of action. It helps some people. I tried it and had movie-like dreams than later terned into nightmares.
I did not take Remeron and Effexor yet.
For me works Elavil because it has hypnotizing action. It is prohibited in Ukraine and considered to be narcotic drug so I am using old supplies of it because it is hard to get it now. When I will run out of it I will have to go back to USA because it is not prohibited in USA. Hypnotizing action means that it actualy can alter your thoughts and make you feel like everything is fine just like other narcotics, it reduces thoughts. I had automatic thoughts going in circles which would not let me think about anything else so I was completely disabled, could not even read or write. Also it reduces memory so bad memories become less vivid. And it is extremely calming. It takes away all anxiety. Remeron suppose be same way.

Cymbalta made me terribly sleepy, which I could not tolerate. I may be retired, but I still have things to do!

But Cymbalta can be a BEAR to wean off of. Be sure to read up on getting off of it before you try it, if you decide to

For some people, it has turned out to be the greatest drug ever invented. It worked miracles on my adult son. It just didn't happen to do the same for me.
