i think its originally just a day of thanks. for the beginning of the harvest. we made it into what it is in america because of the indiana pilgrims thing, which is probably why its in november and not in a month where you would normally harvest... lol

UK has that beer thing for their harvest. something with october in the name. we dont have that here... for obvious reasons. americans are angry drunks.

some dont, like official jobs, and some retail. i dont know about the post office or not. i believe theres no school though. police work.

people have parties, people decorate. average person spends like $30 - $50 dollars on candy, outfit, and decorations. costumes alone are like $50.00

Teachers dress up in halloween costumes and pass out candy at the end of the class, And class? really, there is none. We just sit around and talk and try to get the day over with...the teachers too! haha

actually I turn into an 8 yr old this time of year...Im no where nearrrr the 48 yr old that I really am!
I just hate that everyone sells their bags of mixed chocolate bars for 5 dollars tho! wtf? no, not even a break at Halloween either!
