Demons? I really believe there is some truth to that. It was only after my Ex-wife said she had enough of my negativity and I accepted Christ into my heart that the hate and anger at the world went away. Maybe just coincidence but I now think it was meant to prepare me for her infidelity. The old me probably wouldn't have handled it as well.
