I finally found my medication (SERTRALINE)...it was hidden (by me) in a tube of toilet paper on my desk! (gag gift my son gave me for my birthday last year - has a picture of a certain politician on it - LOL)
Let me tell you the whole story...
Last MAY, I got sick and went to the doctor...after a couple of visits, I mentioned to the Dr. that I felt very frustrated and ANGRY with people in general...she said it was understandable due to my then life situation...and that she was going to prescribe me an anti-depressant/anxiety medication (Zoloft/Sertraline)...
WELL...that just upset and frustrated me more, but I didn't say anything...
I filled the prescription and took it for the first 30 days - not noticing any improvement in 30 days...I stopped taking it...until August when I started LOSING it with everyone...In August I refilled it and took it for not even a week...then I hid it...from my family and myself!...
Well needless to say I've had a really bad Holiday season...I got sick (flu / Asthma)...my mom got sick....I became my mom's primary caretaker...then I was in accident where i hit my head and had a black eye for about a week!!! ... my mom went to the ER ... the holidays came and went...it really does go on and on...and my depression/anxiety just got worse and worse...so I started looking for my medication....
On Dec 21, I went to the Dr again because of the accident and my asthma - and was prescribed more meds and refilled my HBP medication....WELL...are y'all ready for the kicker?
I haven't taken ANY of my meds in four weeks...longer for the SERTRALINE...so you see....I do this crap to myself...because I am in such denial...I just want be healthy but I am not ...I am DEPRESSED, I have MAJOR ANXIETY...and last night my blood pressure was 177/107! DAMN I'm sick!!!!
For God's sake! All I want is to be a Doctor....Dr. Depressed Recluse MD...that is my life - long goal - BUT I can't do it with all these damn medical issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I'll be honest with y'all - I AM A HORRIBLE PATIENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - but alas, I digressed - AGAIN....
So anyway, about a week and a half ago, I told myself that when I found my SERTRALINE...I would start taking my meds on a regular basis ( I take them at night - its easier for me) - but I hadn't really looked for it - except for occassionally skimming my overly cluttered desk and opening a drawer every now and then...until today...I just decided to really look for it and so I skimmed my overly cluttered desk...opened a few drawers...and then I thought to stick my finger in the toilet paper tube and GUESS WHAT?
THERE IT WAS - there's my SERTRALINE
SO...now...after that long ranting and raving post (so sorry about that - I am just so frustrated and anxious) ... I have to ask y'all...
If I start taking my meds tonight - how long before I see or feel any results? - that's one of my problems - I want the meds to work overnight...but I know they don't / can't...but I honestly don't have time to wait for them to work....so what do I do? I don't want to OD but I do want to get better - quick....ARGH!!!! Plus...I have FU appt with the Dr. next week and they're going do my blood work-up...and I am honestly scared to death about what that is going to reveal!!!!
I NEED A FUCKING VACATION...just me and my meds....and my coke (the drink)
Bye for now...I have a headache and I am going back to bed!....to avoid doing all those things I know I have to do!!!!!!

Please don't mess around with psymeds. You can end up on the short end of a really nasty stick.
Then, your friends would be distressed, your family would be sad, and it would just not be good for children and other living things.
I hope your headache will get better. I would hate to think that you might try amateur brain surgery if it lasts too long!
Tongue firmly in cheek, I wish you the very best. It was cautionary and fun to read your post!
Actually, when I used to suffer from daily, never-ending untreatable migraines...I would bang my head against the wall - it was the only relief I could get from the pain...and it did work!!!...but now I only get them occasionally and they are best treated with Aleve and sleeping all day - and they really never are as bad as they used to be.
And thanks for your reply too, ElenaNJ!
I'm feeling a teensy weensy better right now...so I'm going to go back to bed before I get too anxious again...see y'all tomorrow...
A lot sooner than if you don't take it.
Why start taking the zoloft if it didn't work for you the first time? Maybe a doctor can prescribe a better option.
All that stuff sucks. Try to take it easy. Try to accept your circumstances and make the most of it, for nothing more than your own physical health. Try to relax.
