my mother is one of the most inconsiderate people on the planet. She bought a big box of KFC style chicken legs and breasts and thighs and crap. She eats this stuff and leaves the bones and the leftover meat at eye level for my dog.
I've caught her doing it once and picked up the plate before the dog got to it. I told her very sternly don't do that because Lexi will choke. And in a bitch ass voice as usual she said back to me okay okay I got it! I'm to the point where I'm about to cook it all and feed it to my dog without the bones of course and throw the rest away . Any thoughts? There is no chance of her changing her behavior. Only my dog continuing to be at risk as long as that's in the freezer. It is not something she normally buys.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....
But since the health of your dog at stake, I guess you need to be diligent and make sure that you pick up this mess after her. (I don't know any dog that will ignore a tasty treat like that if they can get away with it.)
A lot of resolving this may depend on the "power status". If you live with her, or are supported by her, you may need to tread lightly. If she lives with you, or depends on you for support, then you can be more forceful. I would suggest that you simply watch for her to leave the food out and then just throw it away. When she asks about it, reply in a calm way that if she leaves food out where the dog can get it, you are going to throw it away. No lectures, no angry voice, just matter of fact.
