I started typing this and my browser crashed and I lost it all. So here's for a second shot.
One of my very best friends was killed early Sunday morning. He was 16. He was varsity pitcher on the baseball team. He was the happiest kid in the world. He was always trying to cheer me up. He was always the first one to visit me in the hospital and the first one to call me to see how I'm doing every day. He did all he could to brighten my mood. I always got a call or text from him every single day. Sunday came and went. Monday came and went. Then Tuesday got here and I was really worried. No texts or calls. No responses to my texts or calls. I knew there was a big party Saturday night and I knew he was going. I knew he was going, because he asked me to go with him. I told him no, that I didn't want to go because I didn't want to be around the alcohol that I knew was going to be there, and I told him I didn't think he should go either because I had a bad feeling about it. He text me throughout the night to let me know he was okay, until the texts stopped at about 3 in the morning. I was worried, but I just told myself that maybe he fell asleep. On Tuesday I found out through a message on facebook that Joey had been killed. I didn't want to believe it, so I looked his name up in the local newspapers website and found it... "Virginia Beach DUI claims life of 16-year-old, imprisons another" Joey's friend made the decision to drive drunk, and Joey made the decision to get in the car with him. Now he's gone and that makes two best friends in less than 6 months that are gone from my life.
Joey I love you. I hope you know that, wherever you are.

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...
