Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
My husband used to whine (no offense intended toward anyone but him) about not wanting to be on meds the rest of his life. He finally changed his mind after he tried to go off them the week of my birthday one year. Worst birthday ever, and he's lucky to be alive. He said "but I'm feeling better now, I don't need them anymore." I said "hmmm... and what do you think has made you feel better? hand me that frying pan so I can knock the smart back into you."
If you have a chemical imbalance in your brain, taking meds for 3 years does not permanently get rid of the imbalance. If you have an imbalance it is likely you will have to be on meds for the rest of your life.
For all those who have been on Zoloft or any other anti-D, has anyone ever had problems with short term memory loss, as I have noticed I am forgeting things I shouldnt forget.
