Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
however if your going to finish this yourself then do it really slow and know that there are going to be some rough days
why did you decided to go off of it??
No wonder you are not feeling good. Not being on a med when you should be can cause intense emotional crashes. You should resume your Zoloft, . full dose starting tomorrow.
If you want to mess with your meds, talk to your doctor first.
reason for stopping Zoloft is mainly the weight gain...am putting on so much weight and that is making me more depressed, changing meds is not an option as ive been through it all before years ago and it messed me up so bad...that was when i started self injury.
I have plenty of people to support me emotional if I go off meds...I just need to learn to ask for their help... for now I have the internet and this group... so sorry for going on like this...i have to do something.
Thanks for your replies...I will try to make a dr appointment for next week....using the phone is VERY hard for me.
Not sure why you are going off?
I'm being taken off Effexor very quickly as per doctors orders to start prozac and it is making me feel terrible. I have to decrease 75mg every 4 days. It is not fun at all. But as soon as I'm done I have to start my Prozac right away.
I also have what I call phoneaphobia. Its just awful.
A friend did the same thing. Went off meds without consulting her doctor. She gained weight and blamed the meds. Well that is a side effect, but not so much with the one she was on. After about eight months, and no weight loss, she finally admitted that maybe the drug had not been the primary cause of her weight gain. She agreed to resume.
As far as your weight goes, would you rather be alive and fat or thin but dead.
I went off zoloft cold turkey when I couldn't get my prescription filled. There isn't too much of a problem after the first day or so..
unless you consider crashing depression to be a problem.
Please don't give up on your goal of treating your depression.
