Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I shouldn't have to fight to be happy. This is what angers me the most. That the darkness always seems to find a way back to me. I wish I could just run from it. Or find a way to fill the weird hole that lies inside me 24/7.
What do you do to take your mind off of your worries? Can you find things that are good in your life? Or positive things that you'd like to achieve, gain or do? I really want a pet. That's enough to keep me going for a while.
We've all got problems on here, but as my darling mother once said, other people's problems are so much more interesting than one's own! and so much easier to solve...
ha. A problem shared is a problem halved. hang on in there, you can claw your way out of this and onto solid ground, and then you will be able to find the joy in life and look forward to things you will enjoy.
:) As to what the other 2 said above: I have a vase of fake peonies. The vase is round. The peonies are pink and cream. I bought it 6 years ago because i needed beauty, was starved of beauty and anxiety needs beauty.
I still get enormous pleasure out of them, and so do visitors.
If you can find something that brings you joy, grab it and keep it close. Invest your feelings into it. Make it a talisman of your recovery. The other thing I buy when I can are carved hippopotami. They manage to soak up all my feewings and lock memories in place. :)
I am actually looking forward to going to the doctor next week. I am like an miserable zombie just trying to seem normal. I have my cats to look forward to and maybe find something to bring me joy when I am not with them. Actually right now the thing that helps me the most is sleep. I look forward to that as soon as I wake up.
THanks for the advice. TRying not to go insane.
