Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
You seem to be willing to go to counseling, correct? Money is an issue. I had similar situation and found help through church. Not pushing the faith upon you at all. Just sharing what I did. I wasnt of the faith or apart of any church at the time, but I needed low cost counseling. I found it at a local church. They offered low cost counseling and alot of divorce care support without pushing faith on me. It worked great money wise and emotionally. I did end up attending and serving in that church for a few years before I move don, but that was of my own choice, not pressure by anyone. So maybe you could contact a few local churches to see what they can offer. Cant hurt.
I wish I had more to offer in suggestions. I truly know the path you are on. Its horrible, but not impossible to recover and move on from.
1. Sometimes you just have to erase the messages, delete the numbers, and move on.
You don't have to forget who that person was to you, you just have to accept that they aren't "that" person any longer.
2. To love takes courage and strength
to hate takes fear and weakness
never find fault in yourself for loving.
3. I may not be someone's first choice, but I am a great choice.
I may not be rich but I am valuable
I don't pretend to be someone I'm not, because I'm good at being me.
I might not be proud of some of the things I've done in the past, but I am proud of who I am today.
I may not be perfect but I don't need to be.
Take me as I am, or watch me as I walk away.
Please know that you are a worthy person and you will have happiness once again. It takes time to heal and you take all the time that you need. Hugs Gramybear
I used to think OCD was only things like having to walk a certain way or making sure everything looked just right. But I've learned it also is about obsessional thinking, usually negative. On one level I understand that of course I should not keep thinking about whatever it is, but I just can't shut off my mind or my emotions. I take meds for this now, and they help so very much. I have other anxiety disorders, too. Talk therapy also is extremely useful to me. I also am drowning in debt; I think many people are in today's world. I lost my home. So I know how awful that feels, too.
I'm not saying that you have OCD or anything else; I am not a shrink. But if you just can't let go of these thoughts and feelings no matter how hard you try, there may well be something that is causing it. Many places have sliding scale therapy, and if you do not have health insurance, have you applied for it under the new federal policy? Millions more people are on Medicaid/have health insurance now.
Whatever the specific route you take, sharing your feelings at this website is always an option. But if you know you "should" stop dwelling on these things but cannot, please look into finding some sort of help.
I hope you have a good day.
