Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

i could be in a room with 500 people and feel like im the only one there. absolutly alone. wow. i thought i was the only one that felt like that..
you completely..just..

yea. i seclude myself..it is hard to explain. i understand that. but i know exactly how you feel. so. how do we fix it? =/
I honestly think that what helps me the most is reading. Whenever I'm feeling the worst, when I can see my support system of friends or family around me but am unable to reach out to them, I lose myself in a book. I'm sure other people find that other things help in a similar way, such as movies, music, writing, etc. Drowning myself in a book lets me escape my known world and immerse myself into some character's problems, and by the time I pull myself out of it I've allowed myself time enough away from my problems to make me feel a bit more optimistic.
Have you talked to your parents or friends about these problems? My therapist told me that finding someone close to confide in at times like these, when we feel all alone, would be helpful. I've been unable to trust anyone just yet with that sort of relationship, but perhaps you could find a way to do reach out to someone in your life. Maybe you'll find a friend or relative who has experienced those feelings before, and can sincerely sympathize and guide you through them.
