My Grandad's funeral is today. After 3 weeks, we finally get to say a proper good bye. Our family isn't one for tears and dramatics, I am something of an island but I cannot imagine this being easy on me, as selfish as that is.

I am already in the grip of panic, feeling scared, for no good reason. It is upsetting that he has gone, very much so but I do not think that I have any right to hold onto fear.

Anyway, I better go get ready.

I hope you can pay your respects to your grandad and get through the day the best you can.. Posts like these always bring it back to me about how I felt at the time..No trigger at all.. Just wanted to pass my love onto you.

Thank you everyone. It was hard but I got through it. I cried through the entire service. All of us were a bit shocked by the religious nature of the service but it was nice.
They even played the Pompey Chimes and Match of the Day theme tune as the curtains closed. That made us all smile.

Goodbye, Grandad. I love you, always. Be safe where-ever you are.
