i saw in another post or comment that someone wrote that we have freedom to say what we want online ? why was i not informed of this ! it is absolutely not true ! in real life u can cuss someone and they just walk away or cuss u back and its over right....
online u cuss someone and they report u - which leads to being banned from sites ..... which leads to hate mail being sent to the banner or person who was banned..... which if your like me leads to being banned from using some internet providers and all cause we exercise our freedom to say or sorry type what we want and what we feel- i do think this needs to change..... what is the use in having online conversations when u have to bite ur tongues and not say what is on ur mind ?..... i personally have to bite mine alot and i just wonder- do the internet providers get mail complaining about this? if not maybe we should start something..... just something to think about for the day.... i'd appreciate hearing any of ur thoughts on this- and if u think this post is not right or that its stupid- Bite Me !...

it is true ppl do report you because they didnt like what you had to say and i dont think that is right i think ppl should be reported for other things like degrading ppl over and over again after they have been asked to stop people shouldnt be reported for speaking thier minds.

i understand each website has their own rules - and like sadndepressed wrote - on a site like this i can understand why there is a "report" link. people shouldn't be subjected to verbal beatings - but when you are offering your 2 cents - i don't think you should be censored for it.

however - internet censoring goes much deeper than this. debates on the subject will go on forever. being a US citizen - i feel like our rights are being stripped from us everyday. who cares if i'm not being PC.

FUCK censorship. i'm sure i will be reported now.

i agree with you totally i think you should only be reportive if you are being abusive i mean really abusive not just voicing your opinion....something weird though you said that you can cuss someone out in real life well this woman came to OUR house and was chewing my dad out for nothing well he called her a B*^ch and told her to leave she filled a restraining *SP* order on him and she got it judge said she was placing it on him just for calling a B*&ch *i swear this is a true freakin story*

Unfortunately people hide behind the Freedom of Speech thing to protect some of the hateful and hurtful things they say. There should NOT be freedom of speech in a DS forum. That's right! And I say that because a TRUE depression forum would never allow some of the hateful and hurtful and insulting messages and would instantly ban the person responsible for such messages. A TRUE depression forum should contain helpful advice and support. Period. DS is not a TRUE depression forum. It's a place where some depressed people come to and state their opinion. It's an opinion coffee house. Mosty dominated by 7 or 8 "regulars" who say they are depressed yet have been here forever and spend all day online not getting better but instead putting up stupid posts about boobs, sex or something totally pointless.

if it weren't for the "regulars" this forum would have a bunch of people crying out for help and no one to talk to about it.

OK now i am going to speak my mind zens how long have you been on this website? honestly how well do you know these people? have you talked to them on the phone? have you chatted with them outside of ds? honestly you dont know these ppl and if they are serious or not. i actually have talked to some of these so called regulars you talk about however outside of ds on the phone in yahoo voice chatting and you know what depression does not instantly go away it needs constant help and support which ds offers and you know what i think this is the best website for depression on the web. im sorry if your offended by what i say but thats my 2 cents.

Thats bull. There are plenty of people who come here and are afraid to say anything because they get ripped to shreds if someone doesn't agree with them. DS would NOT miss 8 or 9 people. It would continue on.

i don't know who you are referring your post to, zen - but i have not bashed anyone. i have never ripped someone to shreds for their opinions. if you read through MOST of the posts on this board, everyone is very caring and concerned for other people.
