Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I'm sorry to hear that the last two-three years have been bad for you. I've definitely have experienced an "unreal" feeling while being depressed, and usually when I've been at my lowest point. I hope that things get better for you, because it's always rough going through the holiday's feeling like crap and with no treatment helping. I'm so sorry to hear that... If you ever feel like talking, feel free to message me.
In my case those feelings disappear and come back. Why they come and go, I have no idea. I just came to terms with the fact that this stupid depression is never going to leave me. So I decided to try to do my best to strive and not let it win and take over my life.
Easier said than done, but I'm still here and I have managed to bring a few good things to my life.
Same thing with drinking. After I had my first blackout, things sort of changed for me when I drink. I have to be much more cautious of when and how I drink.
And yet again, my manic moods give me a sense of clarity and strength where the depression just makes it difficult to understand and I pretty much feel weak/useless. I wasn't sure to which degree of unreal you were referring but I have quite a few to choose from. Message me if you feel like embellishing or if you have any questions.
I hope you feel better soon.
