So I know I sound like a little kid complaining. I've been a part of this group for a couple years but I don't remember how long it's been since I've posted in here.
Today was the "Big 21" and out of my family the only person who bothered to text or call was my 18 year old sister. She sent me a text telling me to get drunk & party since I'm 21 now. My mom, brother & grandma didn't bother to say anything to me until I texted my mom & reminded her that today was my birthday. Then she came up with the excuse saying that she was asleep because she had "worked" the day before from 9am to 8pm... (She didn't work, she was at a 5 year old's birthday party... My mom doesn't have a job.) Well about 15 mins after I talked to her my brother texted & then my grandma called. So I'm assuming that my mom got off the phone with me & told them to call and say Happy Birthday.
My husband (he's military) came home tired from work & distant. He knew it was my birthday... He watched a documentary he knew I didn't want to watch and then told me I should go to bed because I looked tired & that he'd be back in an hour. It's 4 hours later, I'm up again and he's just now going to bed. Just spend the last 4 hours on his computer playing games.
I'm 21. This was supposed to be a big day. I barely received a "Happy Birthday" from anyone, much less a card or a gift. I don't ask for gifts so I'm totally ok with that... Even from my husband... But this still should have been a "Me" day and it seemed like nobody really cared at all. I feel like it was just another day & not important to anyone. I've found myself crying for the last few hours sitting/laying here alone. I already have so much going on in my life that's brought me down and I was really hoping for a day where I could relax, have fun & not have any worries. Instead it's made me feel completely invisible to the people who are supposed to love me.... :=(

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
You are special and you deserved a good day!
My husband isn't one for making plans either but he is usually happy to follow along with what I want. Sometimes you just have to make things special for yourself.
21 is a normally a pretty special day. If I were in your shoes I would go ahead and make plans to do something on the weekend to celebrate. After all your day did land on a Monday. And you deserve it! Happy Birthday Hugs Kelley
I make sure to have plans for my birthday. I buy the cake and ice cream, I plan what movie we will go see, and I decide where we will eat. And it doesn't bother me to do the planning. If I didn't organize the day, I might end up doing nothing for my birthday. Maybe you can do this for yourself this coming weekend. You need to celebrate and have fun.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
