someone else if neccessary. Maybe write your feelings down and talk to the
therapist about them.
Anyway, it's a tough transition, and it sounds like you need some support. Your psychiatrist needs to be a professional and put aside their personal feelings and be a doctor and adjust your meds as needed. You are a patient in their care, and that is your right. Please find a new doctor if your current doctor is not capable of this. You matter and you deserve treatment.
It takes courage to see a counselor even though you are doing so because it seems to be the thing to do at this time. It's ok to not have any clear direction at this time. Sometimes, during crisis, we just take things minute by minute. Life is constantly changing and you won't always feel this way. Hang in there.
I quit going to my therapist because she kept excusing my anger and my unwillingness to cope. I felt like she was using my disability as a crutch, which I do well enough on my own, and justify all of my emotional issues. I didn't go to therapy for validation, I wanted counseling and guidance.
I hope you get all the help you need to manage yours and nothing like this happens again,
I am almost 73 with (treated) combat related PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders. Would not consider suicide ... it is no solution.
Lerner was tough on some of the doctors and one supposes like everyone else, they vary. Maybe your doctor thought tough talk would work and it did the opposite and you can evaluate a change.
It is nice that your husband has been supportive- I would try to marshall the strength to tell him thank you for being there and supporting me- I think that would make him and you feel a little better. Could you husband be an intermediary between you and your daughter,
I know that feeling of having a family member not speaking to you and I think it’s especially degrading for the elderly (I’m 73). My brother is all I have in the world and he’s cut me off and hasn’t spoken to me for the better part of 3 years. My therapist just referred to it as emotional abuse but I dont know if he was just calling it that to please me.
I would definitely suggest a therapist - it can be amazingly helpful if you find the right one.
It sounds like you need something of your own to look forward to each day.
I can understand how you may have felt not long ago. I think some people don’t understand the trance a person finds themselves in. How it is almost an out of body experience. Not really you at that moment.
I am happy to hear you have a supportive husband, it is good advice to thank him. Is he a good listener too?
I wish you the best in your healing and am glad you are here to share your experience.
