Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

In the here and now, there is only you and this computer, you and this cup of tea. You and this assignment or task or activity or whatever. Just the now.
You can't be depressed in the now.
Depression is part woe, and part reaction to woe. It's part suffering and part self pity. It's emotion, and it's blocked emotion. A bird in a tree won't get depression. A cow in a paddock won't get depression. So how are we so much smarter and more sophisticated, that we spend our lives dwelling on what we haven't got while we fail to notice what we have?
Depression is what we get when we don't live right. It's what we get when we don't live fully in the now. We block feelings in this now that impact on that now. We overreact to feelings in this now that cause us remorse in that now.
focus on a series of nows. Get each of them RIGHT. give yourself nothing to sorrow over in another now. give yourself nothing to be ashamed of in another now. Think things through fully. Accept your humanity fully. Learn the parameters of existence and don't thrash yourself if you can't live outside them.
We inflict depression on ourselves. It's something we do to ourselves. That's why people who don't have it lack compassion: because they think we're stupid for flogging ourselves. They say 'put down the stick and stop beating yourself, and THEN see if you still hurt'.
I tend to get depression when things trigger me off, like a breakup, job change,
I'm feeling very low and deeply lonely, and I'm single too, came off Facebook as i was sick of all the babies marriages etc. I would love a friend right now. I don't have family and I feel i don't want to burden my friends.
