Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Hey, all. It's great that I was referred here to a group where others will understand. I have no support system. My family doesn't understand my sadness and pain, and my friends definitely don't. I'm so lonely. I always have negative thoughts, and sometimes suicide thoughts come through. I'm surprised I've even held down a job as long as I have, because I just feel as though everyone is constantly out to get me. I don't have many friends, and it's hard for me to form a romantic relationship. I'm lonely, sad, angry, anxious, and Aggravated. I am watching all my childhood friends get engaged, married, etc. It makes me feel like I'm unworthy. Some days I'll just break down and cry for no apparent reason at all. I'm looking for friends who understand and are here for me. I'm 27, so the same age group would be great, but I'm not opposed to any friends! Every day is a struggle, and I'm constantly fighting a battle. Thank you.

Hope the dog days of summer aren't getting you down!

husband for me. Actually, I had joined several dating services in my late 20s and early thirties. But this last one was where I finally found someone. So there is still hope. I was 32 when I got married.
Maybe you need to seek therapy and maybe medication for the depression.
I understand you dealing with all of this. Crying for no apparent reason and the feeling of loneliness are possible indicators that you are dealing with depression. Like Tired said. maybe you need to see a Dr. and try some anti-depressants to see if these can help you. I am a lot older than 27 but, I am a loyal and trusting friend.
I thought I was totally past that. But after having surgery recently and some other life changes including job change and my youngest child moving out I found myself back in this negative thought pattern again. I am educated and very much aware of what to do for myself but it all can fly out the window if I let myself get too busy and neglect to take my meds.
Friends, family, any kind of social distraction helps me. But when I am at my worst, This site helps me when I can reach out and encourage others it takes my mind off myself.
If one medication doesn't work for you it may be worth trying another medication. Not all meds work great for everyone. Best wishes to you and I am sure you can continue to find support here. I am not great at being consistent though.

I'm 25 this year. I have the same sort of problems making connections to other people too. I barely have a support network. It would be great if we could exchange experiences and success stories with each other since we seem to be going through the same things. I always find it helpful to just talk about whatever is on your mind just so you know that there's at least someone who's listening to you.
This website is a great support group! You'll meet some really caring people on here.
