Does anyone else feel worse when they go talk to there doc/therapist/counselor/psych about how they are feeling? Why do I always feel worse? I always leave the office feeling humiliated. I've to talk to my doc about this, but I just feel worse. I have switched my doc 3 times now. Every time I spill something new about how I feel, I feel embarrassed and there for need a new doc to feel comfortable around again.

I do at times as well cause I don't like to open up and tell others what is bothering me. But if I get to the point where I don't open up and tell my therapist things, then I might as well not even go. Just try to tell yourself they are there to help you. I know it isn't easy...I always say therapy is one of the hardest things I have ever done and I truly mean that. I hope you can figure out a way out of this so you don't have to switch so much....Take care of yourself!

i feel embarrassed about talking about the sexual abuse and sometimes i feel worse..but i trust my therapist and so the embarrassment about about how i feel goes away wen i see that she doesnt look at me differently or anything....therapst/docs/psychs..they're heard it all before nothin seems to be new to them

Is it embarrassment or the feeling of total vulnerability? I see a specialist and she holds my life in her hands thats how vulnerable I feel.

There are certain things I just can't tell my psychiatrist. I also get embarassed and feel weird when telling about who I really am.

I feel this even in *this* group when I feel I've said/revealed too much. I've had to learn to fight though wanting to commit "Internet suicide" and become someone new just to erase what I've revealed. In the end, I'll never be "okay" with everything that makes me "me" until I can stop deciding for other people that I'm not good enough just as I really am. It's a long process. Still working on it.

Sorry for the double post, but I need to amend my last comment. It may be more accurate to say I feel like I've INFLICTED MYSELF on other people, and then I want to disappear.

I don't understand that inflicted thing. Also there are things I would be careful about telling.

I always feel weird when I disclose something personal about my self.

Yes I do to. But I always think that he has probably heard it all and even worse so I don't feel so bad. Then I watch these reality tv shows and I feel even better about myself.

I let it all out in therapy! The guy i have is awesome. I have never left his office feeling worse. As far as embarassment, i know this guy has heard it all and he is in the profession to help us so dont hald back!

I understand what you are saying, I had to go and talk to a pdoc and I didnt want to, so some of the questions I was asked I didnt want to answer and he actually was impatient and got upset with me and yelled at me, ugh...ya I was blushing it is such an uncomfortable feeling because I dont like to put everything out there and I feel like I am not in control when they are asking questions I dont want to talk about, I have to go and see a new one in a couple weeks I hope it doesnt go the same way!

Many of you have said the same thing "they have heard it all" Too me it just makes me feel even more stupid for talking about myself. I'm just another pebble in the bucket.

You have to be very careful with some of the professionals. SOME ARE REALLY SCREWED UP. I don't like the way jodianne was treated. And they haven't heard it all.
