Fortunately my chlldren have been in good health. My son had a wonderful childhood and I have the opportunity to enjoy it vicariously, captain of the sports team, popular, fun, and its been a nice ride enjoying it with him. I have three grandchildren also doing well.
I think you try to do the best you can, sometimes you're successful, sometimes not, give yourself opportunities, don't be too hard on yourself, appreciate your accomplishments and work to do better things.
While I am not the most organized person, I knew that working with various charities, ultimately I was helping make the world a better place despite my shortcomings.
