Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

luk finding places for all ur stuff....
So good luck and dont get bummed out, but once you are done, you shall enjoy the fruits of your labor! From then on in, just keep it up, and there should be no more dilemmas after that!
I try and do a little bit each day.
Instead of doing a one or two hour blitz once a week. . I would do a little each day but it's getting hard lately as I have been fatigued and I also am in physical therapy and it's like I just can't do it all.
If the whole house is overwhelming it's advised to concentrate on one room at a time. That's what I read and what people say. :)
Use commercial breaks on tv as an alarm to get up and do something. It's surprising what job can be done in the time of commercials. One of the following
Load up or unload the dryer of clothes
Put dishes away
Throw away items into recycle bin.
Clean a bathroom sink
Wipe a counter down
Go through the pile of mail
My problem is organization and having homes for things. That is very true. And my closet is a mess too but towels do go in there, so I'm half organized and Every time I open the door there's junk and boxes in there and then my shelf of folded towels. Lol
I often make piles. I just stack things up in a pile on the end of the counter and clean around it. It's sad really:( but it's better than nothing.
That's not my advice by the way. Lol. I'm just saying what happens because I'm too tired and hurt to do things.
I think I have too much stuff. I periodically go through items and donate or throw away but I still think I have too much.
Maybe that is something you can do too if you feel you have too much clutter.
Downsize, do some throwing away and donating to free up space.
I think I need more storage or better way to use my space. I need shelves and cubby holes too. Husband is so busy working. Doesn't have a lot of time to do things.
I need help myself so I don't think I'm much help but I understand and I encourage you to not give up.
If you give up it's just going to back fire and be even more of a problem.
A little bit at a time is the best way.
And I like the idea of rewarding yourself.
Maybe write a list of the jobs that need doing and if you have completed them by the end of the month then include that in your reward system too.
Good luck and don't give up. I won't either.
This doesn't work for everyone but if you can its wonderful because without all the clutter it's easier to clean and even when the house is messed up it doesn't look as bad.
Good luck
I also try to do one room at a time. Otherwise you might start a lot of different jobs and finish none. Decluttering is very helpful. It's shocking how much crap we can accumulate. Good luck
Hugs!
Hmmmm yeah I don't think you should have to come home to that either.
Maybe it will take time for everyone adjust to the fact you are working now and things are going to be different
I don't know how old your kids are but even little ones can pick up.
my 2 yr old grandson will pick up his things. i have to make it a game.
If the kids all pitched in and did something each it will certainly take the load off of you. They need to understand it's a family duty to keep the home tidy not a mommy or a wife thing.
I hope perhaps you can sit and talk with family about it and your husband will listen and be on your side. I do hope so. Maybe come up with a chore plan/chart with their designated job.
If they aren't on board with it.
Then go on strike! Don't clean up after them. And withhold privileges such as tv and phone use.
6 kids. Wow. You deserve a medal and a hug :)
I am deff going to add things I want to accomplish along with 2 hours a day for more structure.
I am trying to go room to room but it also gets tiring being in the same area. Hey eventhough ur house is
a little unorganized like your closet, its great that you are still making the effort to keep it clean!
Yeah I am not so hard on myself as I use to and I give myself credit for what I do achieve.
Give yourself credit for whatever you do get done. That's a good thing to focus on. All what you achieve rather than what you haven't.
High five to us both is what I say. Lol
