Buspirone is often prescribed for anxiety. It is safer then benzodiazepines. I take it along with other medications to help control anxiety.

I took it several years ago - It wasn't that effective for me, but I had no side effects or problems with the medication.

I have moved on to a different anti anxiety medication that works better for me since, but we are all different so I hope this works for you.

Everything I've ever read about the medication has shown it to be a safe.

I tried it but rejected it at first cause a therapist told me that the last thing I wanted to do was get anxiety medication because once get on it it’s hard to get off (which is what I was trying to do with my antidepressants). But the while that I did use it, it did it’s job I guess. I wasn’t too focused with anxiety at the time more with the depression.

I took Buspar a while ago and at the time it really helped and I had no adverse effects. Was able to easily come off it when I was ready. As others have said, each person reacts differently, but I have never heard anyone having trouble with it.

So far I feel ok, less anxiety which is good. I'm nervous it's causing weight gain though. Hasn't been too drastic but I'm not sure if I'm not eating well enough or it's the meds
