Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Restful
i have been dreading just waking up, working, and all the things I have to do every day because there always seems to be another stressful situation right around the corner. I can’t process anxiety like normal people who don’t have mental health issues. It overwhelms me, leads to depression, and then hopelessness. There’s no long term peace to look forward to; only more struggles until the day I die.

It's National Doughnut Day!Which three would you like? (never mind the calories, fat, or sugar content; just go with what you would pick if none of that mattered and whatever health issues you might have that would keep you from eating one in real life can be cast aside for this exercise as well... have at it!)

People without Mental Illness do have it somewhat easier when it comes to processing emotions and dealing with things like stress and anxiety...sometimes. Men on the other hand tend to bottle it up and have heart attacks....not so great at dealing.
Anxiety can be dealt with by using Coping Skills and Behavioral Therapies that you can learn. They aren't difficult, they do take some practice and you do have to train your brain to use them because they are "Learned Behaviors" that you put in place to take over the negative "Learned Behaviors" your brain is currently using to not deal with things. These Therapies and Skills also go very well with the proper meds to help manage the Depression and Anxiety.
Do you see a Pdoc (Psychiatrist) or Therapist? If not, that would probably be a good first step in managing your Mental Health more successfully so you can get back to enjoying life. If you do you can talk to your Therapist about learning Coping Skills to help you manage your Anxiety so that its dealt with before it gets to the point of Depression.
Its up to you, these are all things you have to "want" to do in order for them to help you cope with your Mental Health issues in a more healthy and successful way.
Take care,
Kat
Hope things improve for you soon.
In the worst of my BiPolar Depression days, I literally did everything in 15 minute chunks of time, because if I tried to go over that, my brain shut down, my ability to see my reality and use my intellect stopped, my survival instincts shut off, and the only mode left in my mind was....Die, its too hard, its not worth it, just Die. The thing with most Mood Disorder Mental Illnesses are that they are Chemical Imbalances in the Brain and when the chemicals are out of whack they greatly affect constructive reasoning, deductive reasoning, reality, cognitive behavior and Logic. And when those things are gone, its very hard to make your mind understand that things can get better, that things will get better, that there is help in the form of Mental Health Dr.'s, medications and Coping Skills that can help you get better.
You might try not to be so flip in your response or so dangerous in your response to someone who's having a hard time or crisis due to a Mental Illness issue.
Questions like, "What do you have to lose?" to someone who suffers from depression can have answers like...Your Life! Statements like, "Be Free, I Dare You" can cause Anxiety Episodes to sky rocket.
You might take care and be aware of what Support Board your posting on.
I am sorry you're struggling. Truly. I tend to think we didn't sign on for coming on this planet as a human to struggle. Yet, many do.
I wish I could wave a magic want and make it all better.
I am assuming you're working with a therapist? That can be helpful, but also taking this tough spot and maybe viewing it from the perspective that life is calling you to do some more "inner healing work". Another layer maybe. Or try a healing or spiritual path you've not tried yet... All sorts of paths and tools to help us get to a better place... Not saying it's the "cure all"... but better, more maneageable.
At the same time, give yourself permission to feel it... for the moment. Don't beat yourself up... Do what you can (ease the stress load)... and create a strategy for baby steps toward being the best version of you... that will be uniquely YOU... (normal is overrated lol)
I hope this helps. I find walking a spiritual path and connecting with others who are likeminded helps me. a support network so-to-speak. But that's just me.
I'm rooting for you... and some of us are here to encourage and hold space for you as you navigate this part of your journey.
Sending big love your way.
