Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

1. I was a sickly child...had asthma since I was six months old...as a child, I went to the doctor every week...had tests and shots every week ...got one shot every week of the year, two shot during the winter and spring months!... as a tween and teen, i went to the clinic at least once a month, took medication everyday and had a 'flow' test and blood test once a month for at least 8 years...the blood test which I enjoyed when done correctly...was an all day affair...draw blood early in the morning, take meds, wait at the clinic for four hours, draw blood again, and take flow test...that is my memory of my childhood and adolescent years!!!...taking meds in pill form, blood tests, and flow tests!... After I turned 18, had run track for a few years, and started taken a home remedy my mom found, my asthma disappeared...I stopped taking all medications and vowed, never again to take any damn medications!!!...
2. Reason number 2 is that currently I can't afford my medications ...because of my illness, I've been unable to work for over a year and before that, I worked but didn't have any insurance...so right now I don't have any income or money...so I can't afford to buy my medications...and then, I sabotage my own health because I can't bring myself to apply or ask for help...in the form of county or government assistance because I am too proud...I am screwed up...that's all
