Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
As for your children:I don't know what age your son is,but "sleeping his life away" could be either a sign of depression,OR a sign that he is a typical young male--around 14,they do start to sleep a tremendous amount. What I would suggest is getting both your kids to a school counselor, just to talk with them,so you can have a professional insight and overview into whether something is disturbing them or not, and trace what that is. The sooner ANY disorder is dealt with, the faster it can be ended, or managed.
Good luck to you, do NOT feel guilty for raising your wonderful children:I can tell you are an extremely protective, caring, nurturing mother. They are lucky to have you, looking out for them the intense and concerned way you do.
If you ever want to talk, please feel welcome to leave me a message!Best of Luck,
Kaitrin
