Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
how about inches...how many inches I've lost.
it would also be cool to have picture comments available as well as more than the sad and happy faces like maybe a confused, angry or in love face. =]
thanks for all your hardwork. my life has totally changed since i came here in november. i am able to help people now also. i will be a member for life- even when i am completly better.
love and hugs, meg
I would like to see the moods change though. There are times like today when I just cant have my total feelings explained with bad and horrible. Its more complicated then that.
I agree with Lowens81 about it not being a good idea for weight - there are just too many people here with eating disorders.
As far as changing moods, would it be possible to have a drop down list similar to myspace or livejournal?
Also want to thank you for this website... it has been such a huge support for me the past few months. It is an awesome comfort to find people going through similar circumstances - - empathy is so much better than sympathy
Thanks again for DS!
1. Different "faces" for feelings would be nice - "not sure", "angry", "hurt".
2. A calendar of some sort, see MEGNEEDSABABY comment.
3. A friends list that is printable for us to keep by our computers to use for notes regarding that person or reminders.
4. I agree with lowens81 - a weight chart would not be good for bulimics.
This site has been a godsend for me. Thank you so much!
The way it is now there are so many things put up each day that those of us with limited computer time just cant search out the threads of interest.
As to goals, I'd like to see. People in difficult relationships who know they need to make some kind of changes and how they are working on it and coming along with it.
People who are able to cut down on medications through other means such as bio feed back, meditation, mindfullness training, etc.
People who are working on eating healthier and losing weight, what are they doing and how is it working for them.
What kind of exercise are you using, espeicaly for those wiht medical problems that make getting into regular exercise difficult.
Move the "remove friend" option so it's not right beneath / inbetween the "hug friend" and "message friend" option... it can accidently be clicked quite easily. Could send the wrong message to someone in need of a shoulder to lean on. Took me a while to come up with something for you to improve upon, but I did it, dammit.
2)Links to hard to find resources. truly helpful websites, like www.disabilitysecrets.com, which gives you tons of useful info about applying for SSI - which our gov't seems to not want anyone to know. It is a one-stop shopping website. you can see if you're eligible, look for a lawyer, and they have a long list of Q&A's, and helped me realize getting a lawyer is the right way to go. I had not idea until I found this site what I should do.
3) how to make a budget and plan for your life, how to find resources when you need help, I have known the info is out there, just difficulty getting connected to it.
Goals would be something like how you are improving or somethng you want to inmprove that someone on here could help like being a buddy or something. Like someone they can contact anytime they need them.
I agree who ever mentioned more emotion icons.
