Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I am currently weaning off Effexor XR which hasn't worked for me, and going up on Prozac. This is my 4th antidepressant this year. I pray it helps along with my continued therapy! Hugs back!!!
@badluckandtrouble Lists do work quite well! I've always used them when I'm in a healthier frame of mind, so I should start again. You're right!
But I think it does take at least that time. For what it's worth though, you know how you pop the biggest pimple first and it makes the biggest difference? That's what I ended up finding myself doing. The big things were easier to identify in the loud hideous noise of the depression. I could pick them out - and then start to figure out what I would do to resolve them. And when they got resolved they made a big difference and the noise went down, and it was easier and easier to pick out things as i got better at listening to myself and understanding myself (and others).
I still have a way to go I suspect. I'm not 'back' to who I 'was' - but maybe I won't ever be? Maybe this is a new me, in new territory, and I am not moving backwards.
So give yourself time. :) you've got through 7 1/2 months, that's pretty good going. If you can do this long, you can do 5 more shots of that. It's worth it.
Do you have a counsellor, or a good friend? Are you in a support group for the special needs child?
