Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Good Morning DS Friends
I went to bed last night feeling ok with myself, this morning I feel like crap, I don’t know why I feel this way, I took my mother to another testing for her memory this time to a psychologist , which I know my mother didn’t do so well, I have to take her on Tuesday for another testing for her brain, so I’m assuming the first testing didn’t go will with her, but my mother tells me she thinks she did good, and she is coming back around, I didn’t have the heart to tell her that it didn’t go well and her coming back around is only in her mind, I talked to her about getting guardianship, I already have POA, she was all for it, but today may be a different answer when I talk to her about it again, I’m hoping the doctor would put in her findings after testing her recommendation for my mother and also myself.......

Just thought I would join this group now that I am a widower. My wife passed away May 28th. She was "The Wind Beneath My Wings". When I met her, I was a drunken, dope smoking, fighting, hell raising biker. She told me if I could get rid of the inner storm within me, that I could be a blessing to people. God placed her in my path to stop me. I have been drug and alcohol free now for 53...

My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies. What, what?!! Babies!? Premies?!...

Hang in there. I know how stressful this is for you. My prayers are with you.
This has to be just horrible for you. It's difficult to deal with my mom too, but so far her memory is ok. I'm glad you have POA. That's a huge hurdle that many older, people will not agree to. Will keep you in my prayers, and your mom too. God bless.
When my Mom was no longer being rational, and she didn't know it, I would remind myself of the many times I must have said, "Why?" or "What's that?" as a child and she answered without getting frustrated.
Caring for my Mom when she was basically a child again was the hardest, most rewarding thing I have done. When I'd get upset, or overwhelmed I'd give myself a timeout, take a few slow breaths, say a prayer for patience, and then get back into it.
The best advice I got caring for her was to be her advocate with Drs, Insurance, etc., and to write everything down. I'm pretty logical/organized so that help give me something to do while everything else was in chaos.
I'm praying that you would be able to get the answers you need from the Drs. and that your Mom would improve. Blessings!
