Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Well two weeks ago I realised I didn't have enough meds to last me until the end of the month and we couldn't afford until payday to get another prescription. So my choices were
a) run out part way through the month and have to go without any
b) reduce my dosage down so that I would have enough until the end of the month.
So I chose option b) and reduced my meds from 300mg to 200mg (they are 100mg tablets). Well that was 2 weeks ago and I'm doing ok.
Sometimes I feel like that i'm on the edge and only just coping. but other days I'm feeling absolutely fine.
Some things are `getting to me' a little easier than when i'm on the full dose, but i'm dealing with them and coping.
So it's now end of the month and i am going to go and get my prescription tomorrow. I've ordered enough for 300mg a day, however i have decided to stay on the 200mg a day dose and see how it goes. At least by getting 300mg worth i'll have the ability to up to 300mg again during the month if everything goes pear shaped and i slide down big style.
If by the end of next month i'm still on the 200mg a day and coping, i'll confess to my GP what I have done, i know she will be fine with it and will be glad that i'm managing it.
I was told years ago by a GP that with my type of depression I will always be on anti-depressants for the rest of my life and I've accepted that. However he did say, it's a matter of finding the right drug and in the right dose to maintain it. So for now this one is working (Trazadone) and if I can reduce the amount i'm on that must be good.
Will let you all know how it goes.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Keep us posted on how you do with the lower dosage.
