I am SSSSSSO tired of doctors....Its a guessing game with them and then they practise with inapproppiate meds. Sometimes I feel I can diagnose myself better by reading information on the internet.
I'm in my 60's and I find the good OLD doctors have more knowledge on your whole body!...These new ones refer you on to the toe doctor the neck doctor those who specializes in just that part of your body...
The give you too many unnecessary tests and I do believe English and West Indian (Caribbean Doctors) are more in tune!!! and it is not so much a business but a MEDICAL facility that they work with...

My daughter went to a dentist who PERMANENTLY damaged her jaw...after returning from two wars....Millitary doctorPfftr#! Psychologist seem better than Psychiatrist who do alot of experimenting with meds and usually get it wrong!

What have you got to be depressed about is DEFINITELY a ridiculous question to ask a depressed person!!!!!!!Its like asking someone in a wheelchair and a broken leg, "why don't you get up and walk!" Dumb dumb!

I've lived and worked in two Asian countries got excellent care. The doctors were really thorough, empathetic, and had knowledge of both eastern and western approaches. The best of both worlds. The doctors always asked questions like if you were married, how do you like your job, how's your diet, etc. Really thorough and holistic. And they all spoke excellent English. In one country that had dreaded national health care my portion of the premium was 2.5 percent of my salary. One time I had to see a dermatologist for a weird rash on my face. In this country you went to a hospital even for primary care stuff, but it's arranged a lot differently. It's pretty convenient actually. One of these places had a lobby that rivaled any 5 star hotel I've been in, a pianist on a grand piano, etc, but I digress. I walked in and saw a specialist within 10 minutes. We sat and chatted for 30 minutes. She brought out some books and showed me what the issue was and explained everything in detail. She then walked me out and showed me this ATM looking machine. When I arrived I was given a electronic, credit card type thing that contained all of my info. The dermatologist downloaded her diagnosis and notes onto it as well as the Rx. So I stuck the card into this machine and went down to the lobby and there was my prescription waiting. On my way to this hospital I went by an ATM machine and pulled out the equivalent of $400 US dollars. I of course was thinking in US terms. So I pick up the prescription and thought the women behind the counter said the equivalent of 70 bucks. I was thrilled. So I forked over the dough and she gave me this funny look and pointed to the computer. It actually ended up being about 7 bucks. Yeah, they have their problems too but the difference is that other countries focus is on helping people get well rather than making obscene, immoral profits. Not to bash Christians, but how can some people call this a Christian nation when untold numbers of people, possibly hundreds of thousands, die every year because of greed? The crazy thing is that most of these countries spend less than half of what we do on health care. In my experience, I got superior care for a fraction of the price. I don't know much about Obamacare but I do know the evil insurance companies are still in the equation. I am sorry, it's just sick and immoral to put profits ahead of people. My experiences recently have shown me that these jerks don't give a crap whether we live or die....they are there to make money, not help people.

I had shitty care from doctors for years until I changed surgeries. Now my doctor is excellent, espeically when I had a breakdown. Although I'm now working full-time, only 5 hours a week, I hope to increase them in January. There is light at the end of the tunnel. That man who said your pretty, people don't know what's depression is like until they have it. Even some of the medical proffession is still in the dark ages. Please don't give up, there will be light at the end of the tunnel, the journey might just take a bit longer. My very warm wishes to you

The biggest manifestation of my depression is insomnia. I got physically addicted to xanax, ambien, and a few others I can't remember. This was taking the exact dose prescribed. Getting off of xanax was a living hell, and something I never want to repeat. I've told doctors this in the past and they just prescribed them to me anyways. What were they doing when I was telling them this? Instead of taking notes they were probably making their grocery list. Right now I smoke medical pot for my insomnia. I works well but I just don't want to have to rely on it anymore. Every now and then on the golf course with friends, fine, but not every night. I am unemployed and can't pass a drug test. I've tried telling this to the last four doctors I have seen. They said I should continue and wouldn't prescribe me anything since pot was working well.

hi, i'm soooooo sorry to hear ur story, especially the bad care from the 'Profit Mongers'. i can only concur with ur summation of pseudo christians cultures who care little for people who might distract them from their own self-indulgence - very sad. and no, GP's in the UK are not any better. they too, either coudn't care less, suffer compassion fatigue (that's if they ever had it) immediately the qualify. think it's a western culture phenomenon where everyone just think of themselves and patients are just 'commodities' to maintain their extravagant lifestyles..............rant over. my thought's and heart are with u i and hope someone will come to ur rescue. sleepless bunny in the uk.

My dr. ruined my llfe and if I could get my hands on a .357 magnum I would be very appreciative....VERY APPRECIATIVE. An elephant gun, rocket propelled grenade or even a flame thrower would be divine. I put my fist through the wall thinking of the mother fucking bs that has become my life. Sorry for the rant...dr.'s do suck though and I wish it was on the end of a sawed off shotgun. That would be a beautiful sight amen.

That happened to me before but it was with a therapist. I saw her at a county funded mental health clinic. She said that if I would go to a hospital they would see me after being discharged. Maybe this is what they are referring to?

Doctors are here for money. Enough said.
