No, I do not believe that this is a sign that the world will end.

I believe that it is a sign that there are still people in the world who believe that they have the right to kill others for not acting the way they want them to.

In fact I believe that this is a reason TO LIVE. Be part of the solution, be part of the survivors, and give aid and comfort to those hurt in the violence.

I just think there's more coverage. Information travels faster now than it ever did before. No, the world is not ending, we just get to see more of it.

Moronless is right. We just see things faster. When I was growing up (which I never did), we didn't live in a 24 hour a day news cycle. We had to wait to see Huntley, Brinkley, Mudd or Cronkite on the evening news. With the advent of the interent, we are all plugged in, in some form or fashion. I also believe that it is not our place to know the date or time that the world is ending, being a Catholic. Pepperman is absolutely right...be part of the solution, care for each other, and show terrorists and other creepos that our will to be loving and kind is stronger and greater than their will to power or will to hurt others.

There has always been bad things, horrendous things and unfortunately there will be more in the future
Today when I was looking at the video I noticed all the people running to help without regard to themselves... I think of that and think of the good I can bring
The world will outlast us all but hopefully we can make it a wee bit better

Tragic and cowardly as today was, .. things throughout history have been thousands of times worse. The world is not ending anytime soon. It will not come due to the acts of some 'few' nutcases.

It will end one day. The sun will eventually die as will life on Earth unless we escape somehow, and even if we escape that, the Universe will also end. We could also be hit by asteroids, supervolcanoes, diseases, and natural disasters. Our end could also be human-caused -- nuclear war, climate change, etc.. As for the violence, the world has been a horribly violent place since the beginning. Bombings and shootings are happening on a daily basis, and I don't expect it to change anytime soon.

I think were we alive during something such as the black plague we would have thought surely this was the end of the world,, obviously not true but how did people go on in those times? And yet they did. If they could and did, we can.

I think there's just more information readily available now. Anyone remember the 1978 Jonestown massacre which was a forced suicide
on 918 people or the Vietnam War when 56,000 American soldiers died.
Way more than we've lost in Iraq and Afghanastan combined. Or the cold war when the Americans and Russians both had enough nuclear
weapon to destroy the world 100 times over. Read about the "Cuban
Missle Crisis" and see how close we came. These thingds have been
happening since the beginning of time. The internet and 100s of TV
channels just provide us with an overload of information.

One of the things I worry anout and my wife and I talked about last night was that events like this can trigger someone's depression. All I can say is that if it does trigger the symptoms and anyone starts to self-medicate with drugs or alcohol, can't sleep, keeps watching the news about this or becomes suicidal, PLEASE get help, call 911, stay with us here, let family know...Please????

Hey invisible....no such luck. The world is goin' on and on and on. And here we are on it. Might as well stay around and try to find the good things that happen, even though the media doesn't pick up on that much. I just saw a video on YouTube that showed a bunch of dolphins beaching themselves. People came running from all over to pull them off the beach and back to safety and they succeeded with every dolphin, and there were a lot of dolphins! It was very inspirational. I hope you all can look it up. Its called "30 dolphins stranded watch what happens next".

Sometimes, people surprise you with the good they do. I work at hospice and I see a lot every day. I see sadness, but I also see the incredibly kind things strangers do for others. There are so many good people out there, we just don't here about them much in the mass media.
