Do I need to feel guilty because of scoliosis?

Hi, there's a story about my scoliosis. From 16 to 19 years I had underweight with 55 kg as a male. That was due to anxiety and psychosis. And at maybe 14 years or so I played videogames and I was sitting on the pc desk weirdly for many hours at that time. I always put my foot on the table and I was leaning to the right. Now at 20 years my weight is normal.

But at 19 years we discovered a 20° S curve scoliosis. Does the previous part have anything to do with my scoliosis? Did I cause this or worsen it to 20°? Was that the cause for my scoliosis or did I worsen it to get a 20° S curve?

I did some quick research, and it said that nutrition and posture do not cause scoliosis. For many people, it is not possible to determine the cause, but when it is the causes are mostly things like birth defects which are totally OUTSIDE your ability to control.

Please have this discussion with the doctors who have diagnosed your condition. They are the best ones to answer your questions.

I also read that there are things that you can do to address this condition, but again your doctors are the best ones to help you learn what you can do.

Yes, please research for me and hopefully tell me that it's not my fault and that I did not worsen my scoliosis! It is really a burden thinking that I somehow worsened my condition to get a 20° S curve scoliosis. I would be happy if I knew that I did nothing wrong! Do you know what it is?

This is a curvature of the spine. My daughter had this and she did nothing to cause it. Her aunt had this as well. It may be something genetic. I have seen this in my own family as I said, my daughter had it. She had surgery when she was 18 and they straightened her spine with metal rods from her lower lumbar spine all the way to her neck . She increased in height almost 3 inches. She has a pencil lead width scar that is almost unnoticeable and she has done fine.
She is 50 yrs. old now.

honestly, the only person who would be able to tell you this with 100% certainty is your physician. all members can do here is give you an opinion which may or may not be helpful to your situation.

Can someone tell me if I did something wrong to get a 20° S curve scoliosis? Was it my fault because maybe I worsened it by sitting unevenly, carrying something heavy, executing workout exercises wrongly or by poor nutrition and underweight? Did I worsen my back to get scoliosis? Is this my fault?

So you're saying I did not do anything wrong? I didn't worsen my back so I could get scoliosis? It was unavaidoble and inevitable? I should stop feeling guilty? Do you mean this? Can you explain why this would be true? Please, I would appreciate it very much! :) Thank you.

    My husband and I got our foster license last month, after 3 years of hard work (we had to start over multiple times due to family dramas and Mom's open heart surgery). We spent a year preparing the whole house, guest rooms, and children's bathroom for older kids of 7 yr old and up. Then we got a call that we have been approved to receive twin newborn premies.
