Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Depression is a horrible thing and it will attack you anyway you let it get to you. You don't sound like a bad mother to me and it seems as if you want to put your son first. I just wonder if it is perhaps the depression telling you that you are causing him suffering.
I don't know how far away his grandmother lives from where you are now but your son might not want to be uprooted and moved again. I see from your profile (sorry for being nosy) that your son is 12 so perhaps if you do feel strongly about this and feel that it is not just your depression making you think this then the best option would be to sit down with your son and see how he feels about it.. especially sinse you say that this move would be for him.
At the end of the day your husband and dad might be angry about the decision but it's your son who would be most affected by the move, so rather than just sending him perhaps get some input from him. You don't need to go into great detail about your depression but as it sounds from your post that he's lived with his grandmother before gently fish out how he feels about living where he is now or living with his grandmother.
I wish you the best of luck, sounds like an awful decision to feel that you might have to make. Sending you some (((HUGS)))
I think we may have talked briefly about "lost time" and not being able to be there when you so very badly wish you could. In turn, I wish I could advise you on the "right" or "correct" thing to do in this situation, but this is not really something I would be equipped (whether with experience, information, or what-have-you) to do. But I'm sure you, on the other hand, will in the end make the choice that is best. I can't imagine it would be anything but difficult. But it sounds like you already know this. I just wanted to let you know that it's a very understandable situation to be in. Please hang in there.
*HUGE hugs*

Depression magnifies everything that's bad. So you may be seeing more of a negative impact on him than there is in reality, you know?
