That the state u live in might be part of the cause of ur depression? i know for me atleast its true

i've been back in Tennessee for 3 almost 4 months, and have had absolutely no luck finding jobs,

which made me resort to babysitting

which i do in the house, therefore no exercise

which leads to being tired

which leads to being bored

which has lead me to constant eating

which caused me to gain back the weight i lost

which made me depressed

and that caused me to look elsewhere for jobs

and i've had 2 offers from a different state within 5 days

which makes me even more depressed

because its 5 hours away and i can't even get there

This all frustrates the heck out of me !

But it also proves to my friends and family

That i'm not crazy and i can get jobs anywhere but here!

Sorry again needed to vent today- anyone else ever feel this way?

I don't live in any state:P. We have counties!!
I know where you are coming from though. I am quite fortunate to live in the south of England which is fairly affluent.
I have friends that are beginning to feel the pinch because of the economy though.(wont go there!)
I hope you manage to work something out. Hugs

I know that you're frustrated but at least you are working. The two offers for employment should make you feel good about yourself. They picked you for the job, no one else. Until you decide what to do, can you get out and walk with the kids you are taking care of? The fresh air and walking should elevate your mood a little.

When I was living in NY I had the same problems. I lived in upstate NY which might as well be another state in itself. It's nothing like the city - farms and cows for miles. There were very few goood jobs there. One of the only sources for emplyement was a WalMart. I worked there for so many years because I couldn't get a job anywhere else. The thing that just pushed my depression over the edge was the weather. It was always so cold and the winters were always so long. It was hard for me because I love the sun. When we moved here to NC I found that a lot of my depression got better. It still hasn't gone away a hundred percent but it's a start. I have a broader range of jobs available to me and I have more opportunities to do other things than when I was in NY. I toatlly understand where you're coming from. *hugs*

The thought of moving from Texas back up north makes me cringe. I have debated it many times, but I hate HATE the thought of month after month of cold, bleak, overcast, miserable weather makes me cringe. I also loved the winter as a kid up north, but that was much different. Now I just dread the idea.

I'M IN CALIFORNIA, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AND IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT MY SON-IN-LAW HAS HAD TO WORK IN VEGAS WHILE MY DAUGHTER AND GRANDCHILDREN LIVE HERE BECAUSE SHE HAS AN EXCELLANT JOB HERE AS A TEACHER AND IN VEGAS THEY DON'T PAY WELL AT ALL.

I live in a small rural town with no jobs and no social activites to join in with so I know exactly where you are coming from...

psh...i can't find a job and I've been looking for over a month. I have a bachelor's for crying out loud. If you enjoy babysitting, but feel it depresses you cuz you're always inside, no exercise, bored, overeating, etc, then take the kids out to a park or a walk around the block. Well, that only solves the exercise problem...shute! sorry, I'm not creative. Good vent though!
