I think you are failing to think of YOURSELF. They are trying to help you .. improve your life. A little cooperation and appreciation is in order.

I smoke cigarettes too .. with a severe habit/addiction. As I see it, you have two choices

put on some 'nice' and wait it out until the weekend

put on some 'nice' and find someone who might go get you your cigarettes for you.

As for 'rights'. I don't know what your 'rights' are ... but I do know they have authority to impose rules.

I don't think they are discriminating against you or denying you of fundamental rights (such as freedom of speech or freedom of religion) if that is what you are asking. After all there are laws that prevent people from smoking in certain places. They most likely do have the right to not let you smoke on hospital grounds if that is what they wish, but it seems this is a case where you have to seek permission to leave hospital grounds and they are not giving you that permission yet. It's frustrating, but they aren't doing anything wrong.

Wonderingvet- the consultant is not out to help at all the staff on the unit are the consultant is here once a week listens to nobody makes decisions when she has no idea what she is even talking about she has no rational for the decisions she makes and when she try's to explain something contradicts every sentances with the next she has no idea
The people who are here to help the ones I do appreciate a LOT and have so much respect for are the people on the unit nurses and assistants
And as for cooperation I cooperate I do what I need to do like with everything you have your ok days and you have your bad days the consultant does not understand that she thinks everything is easy "just do it its that simple is her opinion and you missed like 5% of your diet today so we are going to stop your access until Saturday but in order to go Saturday you must not miss even 1% which with no cigarettes will be near on impossible I can not go without a fag and they are not allowed to get them for me I've asked already

I just think it is totally out of order to take my access away and not allow me to get cigarettes it would harm no one to have let me out for 10 mins to get some but to stop me is going to majorly stress me out and make everything even harder than it already is I am so stressed out right now
I feel that she is breaching my basic rights by not allowing me to smoke by stopping me being able to get cigarettes its not just a case of I want to go out to the shops because I "want" a cigarette I actually "NEED" them and denying someone something they actually NEED is not caring or helping

I think because you have anorexia and cigs can cause people not to feel hungry(forgot the technicial word) maybe it would interfer with your eating, but I dont think they can stop you smoking, but if your sectioned they can stop you leaving, they may feel you try and exercise or maybe purge or something, which would be dangerous to yourself, however if you have family memmbers ask them to bri g you some or friends...I dobt think thet can stop you amoking unleas your using it to avoid eating

It's your human right to do anything you want. However, it is not your right to do it on other's property, in public places, etc. etc. We can harm ourselves, we just can't subject other people to the same danger. Sorry. I am in the process of quitting, I do understand how you feel. Do you have anyone that could bring them to you?

You don't say where you live, but from your language I'm guessing England. This makes it hard for me to guess as to your rights as I'm in the USA; here we laws against smoking in public places. (And the definition of public places keeps expanding.) I suspect that it is much the same where you are.

I am sorry that things are not going your way right now, sounds like it has been that way for 16 months now. I do think that WV is right, sadly you are in a position where you have to follow their rules.

Just a thought, since you have access to a computer, perhaps you can google the laws that apply in the place you are. That might help you formulate a plan.

In England your not allowed to smoke in public places, any buildings only allocated smoke shelters outside like hospital etc it use to be smoking rooms in some physciatric places like one where I livr not a hospital but for people struggling.with mental illnesses, but I think they banned that when smoking ban was made.

Same where I live Unique, first smoke rooms then outside to not on any public property. You better not light one up near a hospital.

I was thinking though about this Nobodie and the last time I was in a hospital, they put a nicotine patch on me. Well, it was a mixture of Wellsbutron and a nicotin patch. I didn't even crave a cigarette. It worked, Maybe you could ask for one of those to help until you get to the store. Aren't you in a hospital setting? They say Nicotine Withdrawal is worse than coming off drugs. I didn't have much trouble though. We from almost two packs a day to maybe at the most 4 cigarettes a day if that much. I'd ask about the patch. Maybe it will help you.
