Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I have experienced this - derealization/depersonalization.
Its actually a symptom of PTSD but I don't know if it surfaces in other psychological disorders. Extreme stress triggers it.
I would advise you to ask your doctor for a referral to a psychiatrist for a proper diagnosis. Its definitely not normal, and you need to get it properly attended to.
Best wishes and congratulations on your new baby.
I KNOW THIS IS NO WAY TO LIVE BUT I FEEL LIKE I AM RUNNING IN QUICKSAND!
I do notice when I am with my daughter I am so present and there and it's like all the feelings go away. Last night we took a bath together and it was the most joyous I've felt in days. When we play it all melts away. All of it.
