Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

next week to take another urine test, after the one last month came back 'abnormal'....want to spend a week trying to clean out my system to maybe fake the test so at least I can feel better mentally.
Learned yesterday, online, that too much coffee can ruin your health---and I would pour instant coffee into everything, hoping for the energy depression took away; coffee crystals in orange juice, coffee crystals in soda, coffee crystals in tea, every few hours.
Lots of sugary comfort food to deal with my cat dying, and even some high sugar wine during his last weeks, with me dealing with cat's illness mostly by myself.
Added to that a constant barrage of unwanted realizations of my parents and my past; stuff I never figured out for maybe 30 years, and now learning the depressing truth about.
Been popping a lot of aspirin, and herbal meds, and gonna be drinking 4 litters of tea today, hoping some good health benefits from it.
Couldn't get in the mood to shave, been a few days since last time; this morning to dentist, and I'm "just" gonna admit I'm too depressed to shave, with me also wearing smelly clothes I had on when I put my cat to sleep.

Many of you know Mr K told me to "shut your mouth" in March 2025 when we took a road trip to Alpena Michigan. Since that time, we have had lots of ups and downs but I have never intentionally hurt Mr K in anyway. And when we first started dating in 2024 he let me know, although he is an engineer by degree, he has an extremely low EQ. Overall, he is ok (not off the charts nice like other guys in...

Death and dying is hard whether it be a pet or a loved one. I lost my dad and had a nervous breakdown.
Please consider adopting a new pet.....you will find happiness again
I have a cat I got in 2006 to keep the now gone one company---he spends most of his time hiding under a chair.
I just read a few minutes ago of the anxiety involved being a care taker ruining a person's immune system.
I'm sorry about what you and your dad went through, and can understand, after I got stuck okaying having my mom removed from life support in 2001.
today started trying turmeric curcumin, from walmart----supposed to help a person's immune system.
I'm sorry to hear about your sister and coffee.
last night I threw away all my leftover coffee, and this morning even the plastic coffee jars I was keeping screws/etc in.
Try and force yourself to shower each day and put clean clothes on.As it helps so much with our moods. I often try to shave in the shower and would like to get into that routine as is so much easier doing it all in one go. Hard enough forcing myself in the shower without have to add more routines when I get out. Shaving also helps with our moods.
yeah, I have no problem showering, though I like long baths, and I still occasionally shave in the tub.
a clean shaven face DOES up my mood, but actually looking in the mirror to shave, THAT I hate:) (nutty me even shaves by reflection in bath spigot to start, then finish with mirror)
a RELAXING bath....
NOW I find out that coffee is high in iron, and can ruin your organs.
next month hope to donate blood at mobile blood van, cause donating cuts down on your iron---but the blood bank also checks in advance to see if your iron level too high to begin with.
So sorry to hear you have lost a beloved pet cat. I'm also sorry to hear that you are having health problems and your struggles with a healthy diet. I'm not a doctor or nutritionalists, but I too have heard/read/been told about the benefits of turmeric and am using it to help my immune system. I believe that our bodies are capable great repair and rejuvenation and healing. It may come down to us educating ourselves about nutrition, herbs, routine and exercise changes. I am also hooked on coffee and have for decades used caffeine and sugar to combat my emotions and ADD as well and am trying to change my diet for the better. It sounds like you are already making big changes! your story of educating yourself and being willing to make those changes is inspiring. I hope you have a good Thursday and find out your health state soon.
YOUR rare post about turmeric is inspiring; you're the first reply to mention about taking it.
Tomorrow, clean shaven, and hopefully without the summer sun right now for my ex-redhead complexion, will walk the 4 miles total to walmart to look for turmeric spice; a few days ago I bought the pills.
Coffee - lot of it here, too!! You can look at another study and find that the antioxidants can help prevent cancer and other great stuff. The studies are all over the place.
Maybe try B12? I am tired all the time too, this vitamin can help a lot.
So sorry about your cat!! You are down now, understandable, but in time you will not be grieving. Wishing you peace and happiness.
Friday will be 2 weeks for him to be "gone", after 20 years in my life.
my rem sleep...? I would wake up and just seconds later some ah-ha realization of my parents would pop into my head.
yes, coffee supposedly has anti-oxidents, but also too much iron that I'm worried about.
and then there's eggs----they better have lots of good potassium in them, cause after a lifetime of reading they were bad, I started eating lots of them, after reading the good news about them lately;)
