I am sorry. Sounds like it was one of your first interviews in your new field.

Well, welcome to the club. It is only an indication that you wanted it so badly.

Did you go to a college or university to study for this new career? If so, they should have a career office that could give you some tips and offer some additional referral sources.

Gotta tell you.....if you were there for an hour, you were doing something very right.....................Can you share why you were feeling more and more depressed as the interview went on. Usually an interview lasts only a few minutes if you are not a viable candidate.

My brother went on a first interview when he was interviewing for an IT job. He BADLY failed the technical because they did not allow him to use any of his books, which was unusual. He talked to them the next day, stated his case, said he was nervous, wanted another chance to take the test......basically they hired him for his drive ..... Just a thought, if you think it can be salvaged.

I agree. Interviews take practice. It's not like you got fired. A failed interview doesn't go on your record is what I'm saying.

I can see why you would get so nervous in this! Interviews are nerve racking especially when you have depression. There will be more interviews and more jobs to apply for don't beat yourself up over this. Stage fright happens to the best of us!

Next time, pretend you're interviewing THEM. Helps me!

I was asked to be part of a committee through my old job...just an information-gathering committee for a project. I went and for about half of it I felt like my old self and made a couple of what I thought were very insightful contributions. Then my anxiety kicked in and in the middle of an answer or two, my mid went totally blank in mid-sentence. I talked like a total fool and wanted to crawl into a shell. So, I guess I k now what you felt like, but I also felt like I just have to keep putting myself out there anyway. It's the only way to make any headway, all though it felt like one step forward, two steps back. Hooray for you for completing the interview. Let us know how it comes out. But either way--you did it!

I'm gonna be interviewing next year after I finish my training program. I hate brain farts like what you had. If they interviewed you for an hour, I agree that you must have done something right. I would also suggest calling them and asking if the position has already been filled. You never know, you may get the job after all.
