Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

I'm not sure if this is the type of information you are looking for, but one thing that i think is a great way to find local people to connect with is by finding events and places you can go to in your community to find people you have things in common with. One example would be taking an art class or something at the community college. I use internet searches sometimes to find things to do. One site is Meetup.com.... you can attend events based on what types of things you like to do... for me, i look for book discussion groups and hiking or outdoor activites...
One thing i will say is that you have to keep trying... sometimes i try things and the event wasnt what i was expecting or i just didnt really feel comfortable with the people. But just keep trying. Its not always easy, but if you work at it you should find some new friends...
Hope things turn around for you.
