Hi.
I'm depressed and lonely and shy and anxious and alone. I'm not sure what I'm staying alive for.

I think we all feel that way at times but i believe we all purpose. Sometimes they are not the biggest things in the world but all have the ability to brighten lives around us even in the smallest tasks. And feeling better is about appreciating even the littlest of things. Make everything an accomplishment even if it doesn't feel like one. You got up today. You made your bed. You said thank you too someone and they smiled. You matter and only your mind is telling you that you don't. And here, you will never be alone because we are here with you and for you

I'm sorry you have to live with these questions. You're not alone, I ask the say question frequently and all the answers feel contrived. The answer I had when I was a teenager was simply that I'm staying alive because I could change everything in an instant and start new. Now that doesn't seem enough. What I have learned from my decades of having these feelings is that there are chemical answers. The feelings you have result from some injury to the brain. There are drugs that can help you live with the injury and some practices that might heal it. Nothing is perfect and nothing is forever, but nothing is as good as feeling better. The first time I took meds, I felt the moment they took effect. I turned to the guy next to me and asked if he felt that connected and unburdened all the time. Of course he looked at me like I was nuts, but I felt so good that I didn't care. Anyway, keep trying to find something better.

I like dressing up sometimes. My birthday is coming up and I have dinner plans at a nice restaurant. But, honestly, I'm a little out of control again. I went through this in the fall. I bought...

Has anyone else noticed that clearly speaking and doing things intentionally is liberating because it helps combat the feeling of depression and a sense of hopelessness?
