I didn't even know he was ill...all the rock singers I enjoyed are dying.! Im feeling so old.

yup I was shocked by the headline I saw on yahoo....I too did not know he was sick but who goes around telling the world I have cancer and am dying?

When I was a young man (sigh, about 40 years ago) I went to one of his concerts with a bunch of friends. The crowd was nuts! I felt like I was in the middle of a wierdo convention. Guys in heels and fishnet panty hose?

But the concert was good.

I recognize the name but never heard his music before, he was a rock star though if I'm correct, I don't listen to much rock so I wouldn't know. I heard about that this morning, sad though.

he lead a very privit life ....by chouice ....and ...he ..never cared ..what anyon cared ..about ...what they wanted ..his music to go ..he did it ..the way he wanted to do it ...the way he felt it ...weather you liked his music or not ..you have to admit he was a true artist ....stayed true to his self and his art .....I liked some of his music .....and I respect the artist ..he was ..........

He was certainly a unique, eccentric voice in music. It's a bummer. Shows us that even the high and mighty towering talents are mortal! I'm into movie soundtracks/scores, just purchased and am listening to John Williams' latest, his beautiful, majestic score to Star Wars-The Force Awakens. John is in his 80s now, and is having health issues. While he composed the entire score, he had to hand off the conducting of some of the score to two other conductors, just can't handle the physical exertions anymore. He wrote the music to all the Star Wars and Indiana Jones films as well as almost every film Spielberg directed, including the wonderful E.T. When he departs this world, I will REALLY be depressed.

He had several hit songs! My fav was White Wedding! It stil rocks! Lol I'm 46. That was highschool days! Nothing beats 80's music! I graduated in '87'. If I could go back, I would change some, ok, alot of things! Wouldn't we all? I knew from the first good buzz and knew I was in trouble! But everyone else was just as f'd up! Lol

Changes one bowie was one of my top favourite lp's. Was singing bowie songs at work today, my workmate did not recognise any. That's including major Tom, suffragette city, Jean Jeannie. No recognition at all. I ran out of tunes.
